EFFECT OF CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF DEPOSIT TAKING SAVINGS AND CREDIT COOPERATIVES SOCIETIES IN MOMBASA COUNTY

The purpose of this study was to investigate the credit risk management practices on financial performance deposit taking savings and cooperative societies in Mombasa County. adopted descriptive survey research design. total population 55 employees drawn from five Stratified sampling technique used choose a sample 48 respondents. primary secondary data. collected data analyzed by analysis tool, Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25. techniques employed were inferential statistics. Descriptive computed mean standard deviation while multiple regression correlation indicated nature extent relationship existing between variables. Results presented frequency table. findings revealed that Saccos do referencing with CRB regarding lending decisions borrowers effective identification mechanisms. department search client historical records determine level Sacco has information gathering which are also they interview applicant carries out check list prior consideration. concluded conducts business plan identify exposure considers cash flow projections before approval.
